In January 2026, the total losses of the aggressor state Russia in the war against Ukraine reached 31,700. This is 9,000 more than the number of recruits to the occupation forces during the same period— a trend that must be continued and strengthened.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky. On his Telegram channel, he shared the results of the Defense Forces’ work on the front during the first month of this year.
Military results of January
“In the war against the Ukrainians, the Russian army is using its ‘trusted’ allies – frost and darkness. But the enemy will not be able to break us… The Ukrainian Armed Forces have stabilized the situation on the front, stopped the enemy, and effectively destroyed their personnel and equipment,” the general reported.
DeepStrike – Strikes against the enemy
- Last month, long-range weapons carried out 48 fire missions to destroy the Russian oil and gas industry.
- This allowed Russia to reduce its overall oil refining by 19%, or 53.4 million tons per year.
Combat operations of the Air Force
- 80 air strikes were carried out
- Attack UAVs have carried out more than 300,000 special missions.
- As a result of the “bavovna” at the invaders’ airfields, the enemy’s use of guided aerial bombs decreased by 5%.
Protecting Ukraine with air defense
- Despite the existing shortage of ammunition, in January, air defense forces destroyed 21.7 thousand enemy air targets and 21.6 thousand drones of various types.
Syrsky concluded: our country has been waging a full-scale war against a superior enemy for four years, but the Ukrainian army is holding its ground and continues to reduce the size of the Russian aggressor group.
“I am sincerely grateful to our soldiers for their resilience, professionalism, and dedication. The fight continues,” the commander-in-chief expressed his gratitude.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, our defenders reduced the Russian occupation army’s strength by 1,250 personnel in the space of 24 hours on February 8. The Russian Federation’s total combat losses (over the entire period of the large-scale war) amount to 1,247,580 personnel.

Indeed, this trend must be expanded. Sending images and videos of cockroaches being obliterated helps to discourage recruitment efforts in the mafia state, and introducing better tactics and weapons can help from our end.
