Vladimir Tikhonov, administrator of the Z-channel “Locator of Russia,” died on the night of July 18 after a combat mission, according to the channel itself.

The Russian Z-channel “Lokator Rossii” reported the death of its administrator , Vladimir Tikhonov , who fought against Ukraine with the rank of senior lieutenant. The channel’s announcement stated that Tikhonov, known by the call sign “Tikhiy,” died on the night of July 18 while returning from a combat mission.

“Senior Lieutenant Vladimir Andreevich Tikhonov, administrator of the ‘Locator of Russia’ channel, died tragically in the SVO zone. This occurred on the night of July 18, 2026, as the officer was returning from a combat mission,” the publication states.

In the published photo, Tikhonov stands in front of a Russian Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun system.

The “Lokator Rossii” channel covers Russian military topics and publishes materials on the war, air defense, and the Russian army’s operations. The occupier was born in 1999 in Rostov-on-Don and served as a communications engineer. 

Tikhonov is survived by his wife, son and daughter.

Dialog.UA previously reported that this week, Z blogger Ilya Remeslo, who had recently criticized Putin and the Russian military,  was arrested in Russia. He has been charged with spreading “fakes” about the Russian military.
