When you hear politicians in the West callously talking about ceding occupied territory to Russia, what they are actually promoting is the cover up of mass rape, torture and murder in those occupied territories. Russia has already announced its intention to move three million Russians into occupied Ukraine. This means the plundering of Ukrainian wealth and property. More importantly, ceding the land to Russia, inescapably means that Russia will depopulate the land of Ukrainians using massacres, executions, and forced migrations. The refugee crisis will be enormous. The cover upfront of Russian atrocities will go unreported.
Russian occupation means mass rape, murder, torture, civilian executions, theft and refugees. This is not a guess. It is not a maybe. These tactics are standard operating procedure for Russia, and to the extent that Russia is given a pass on their warcrimes, it means vastly more people will suffer.
