Sofiia was held for more than a year in an apartment with bars on the balcony, boarded-up windows, and doors secured with keys and padlocks. A russian soldier took her phone, left her food, and came back to rape her.
The Times wrote about her story.
She was 21. She lived with her disabled mother and two younger brothers in a village in Kharkiv Oblast. When the russians entered the village, one of the soldiers began harassing her. She refused.
One day he came back with a weapon and two other servicemen.
“Do you want your family to be dead?”
After that, he took her to a neighboring building and raped her. When her mother went to the russian commander, he brushed her off: “The young are the young.”
In June 2022, Sofiia was taken to Belgorod. There she did not know that her village had already been liberated by Ukrainian forces. The soldier threatened to come back and kill her family if she tried to escape.
In January 2023, Sofiia tried to kill herself. At the hospital they pumped her stomach but did not believe her story. When she told people what had happened to her, he would tell them: “She’s from Ukraine. She’s not in her right mind.”
Sofiia escaped only in September 2023, when russian security services detained her rapist for desertion. Sofiia found his phone and called the only number she knew by heart – her older sister in Poland.
Ukrainian police have documented 226 victims of sexual violence by russians during the war. The real number is far higher, because millions of people remain in occupation or captivity.
At first Sofiia barely spoke to the investigator. A word, then silence. Then they went outside together for a smoke break, and both of them began to cry.
Names have been changed. The photo is illustrative.

This was not easy to write…
“There are thousands of Ukrainian children tonight who cannot hug their fathers. Some of those fathers are at the front, in trenches, reading their daughters’ letters by phone light between artillery barrages. Some are in russian captivity, where the only thing keeping them alive is the thought of a face they have not seen in years. Some have given their lives for Ukraine and will never come home. Their children will grow up with photographs.”

What a delusional and morally bankrupt man.
Trump once again claimed that russia “could have captured Kyiv in four hours and ended the war on the first day if a russian general had not driven the tanks through the swamp.”
According to Trump, russian tanks got stuck in the mud during their advance on Kyiv, which caused the offensive to fail.
He also made sure to mention that he has a good relationship with Putin and claimed that if russia had remained in the G8, the war in Ukraine would never have happened.

President Zelenskyy’s heartfelt interview.
Do you miss being an actor?
“I miss being a good father.”
When your children were little, what did you tell them the most?
“I love you.”
And what do you tell them now that they’re older?
“I miss you.”

A very moving clip from Zel’s interview.
Anyone but a sadistic degenerate with a heart of stone can see from that video clip what a warm, decent and wonderful man Zel is.
“Anyone but a sadistic degenerate with a heart of stone…”
That would be the Putler murder gang and the Trump administration.
