Tonight, Ukraine was under a massive attack by Russia , with many people killed and dozens injured in the strike in Kyiv.

Updated 9:00 AM. As reported by the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko , 31 people are currently in hospitals, including 5 children. In total, 70 people were injured as a result of the night attack.

“Regarding the dead, the final information is being clarified. Rescuers continue to clear the rubble in two damaged houses in the Svyatoshyn district,” he noted.

“Everything was flying: calibers, ballistics, shaheeds” : the head of the Kyiv OVA, Timur Tkachenko, spoke in detail about the consequences of the strikes on damage in 5 districts of the capital.

Thus, in the Holosiivskyi district, cars caught fire in the yard of a residential building, a fire broke out in a garage cooperative, and garages and a 2-story administrative building were partially destroyed.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district – the fall of UAV debris in an open area, the ignition and destruction of garages, as well as a fire in a non-residential building and the destruction of an administrative building.

In the Svyatoshynskyi district, a fire and partial destruction of a residential building occurred, with people still trapped under the rubble. There was also a fire in a non-residential building, destruction in a garage cooperative, and a fire and partial destruction of a 1-story residential building.

In Solomyansk district, UAV debris fell in an open area, without damage

In the Obolon district , a grassy area and 9 cars were burned, a fire broke out on the roof of a non-residential building, as well as a fire in a warehouse and damage to nearby cars.

Updated 8.10. Roman Tkachuk, director of the municipal security department of the Kyiv City State Administration, told Kyiv24 that 69 people are known to have been injured, of whom 44 have been hospitalized. Five of them are children.

He said that the house in the Svyatoshyn district where the attack took place was completely destroyed. 15 people lived there, but only 6 have been found so far.

“The enemy used strike UAVs, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles. That’s why there were a lot of crashes today – we have 18 locations,” he noted.

Updated 7.37. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that as of 7:30 a.m., 9 people were killed in Kyiv as a result of a Russian strike, and more than 70 others suffered various injuries.

Rescuers are also currently searching for two children who have yet to be found at the scene. People are still trapped under the rubble.

“Phone calls can be heard from under the ruins – the search will continue until they are sure that they have got everyone,” said Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

He also reported that in the Zhytomyr region, the enemy struck again at a unit of the State Emergency Service, which arrived to extinguish the fire. A 39-year-old rescuer was injured.

Also, the head of the Khmelnytskyi OVA, Serhiy Tyurin, reported that air defense was operating in the region, and there were downings.

According to the State Emergency Service , as of this morning, 9 people have already died. Rescuers also report that 63 people were injured, 42 were hospitalized, including 6 children.

“There was destruction in residential buildings: the search for people under the rubble continues,” the State Emergency Service reported.

Currently, the elimination of the consequences of the night shelling is underway in 5 districts of the capital. Psychologists and dog handlers are working.

In addition, fires broke out in garages, administrative buildings, and non-residential buildings. Cars and dry grass burned due to falling debris.
