The situation is critical: DeepState analyst on Russian attempts to destroy Ukrainian Armed Forces logistics in Kursk region

The enemy essentially controls all the logistics that go from Sumy region to Kursk region, says Roman Pogorely.

The enemy is stepping up its attempts to cut off the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are carrying out tasks in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation . This was reported by DeepState co-founder and analyst Roman Pogorely on air at Kiev24 , speaking about the situation on the border of Sumy region, where the enemy army was recently able to even cross the border, but was still pushed back by our defenders.

“The situation there is very complicated now, because the enemy is focused on defeating our logistics. And he essentially controls all the logistics that we have from Sumy region to Kursk region. In particular, this is the road from Yunakovka to Sudzha. Now the enemy has focused its attention along the border between Zhuravka and Novyenkiy. The fighting continues there,” Pogorely noted.

According to his information, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are trying to contain the enemy so that he does not consolidate there, does not accumulate. And it is from the area that the Russians are trying to gradually take control that the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are being defeated, Pogorely added.

“The Muscovites are still trying to get into the village of Novenkoye more often. It is difficult to gain a foothold there because the terrain is difficult. There is no village as such, in fact, it is a “village of two houses”. And it is difficult for the enemy to gain a foothold there, and the local paths are not very favorable for this. But, despite this, they are still trying to get through there, gain a foothold, and accumulate. And accordingly, it is from that area that they want to take control of logistics and reach the Sudzha checkpoint, in fact, where our forces are being moved,” Pogorely said.

He assesses the situation as “quite critical”, noting that it began to develop in January:

“It’s reaching its peak now. And if we don’t do anything about it, we’re going to have huge consequences.”

The analyst explained that if the military remains in Kursk region without supplies, it will be difficult for them to hold on there. He says that everything that goes to the Kursk region for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is already being hit.

“It is impossible to move normally there. The enemy continues to try to completely cut off logistics, and something needs to be done about this urgently,” the analyst said.

Moreover, as Pogorely noted, the Russians are also trying to put pressure on the western part of the Kursk group – the settlement of Pogrebki and below to Sverdlikov.

“It is under pressure, under some advances of the enemy. Our Defense Forces are trying to contain all of this, although it is very difficult, considering the same logistics, which are very difficult and very slow,” he said.

Situation in Sumy region: latest news

The Russian occupation army crossed the border with Ukraine in Sumy region on February 25, but was pushed back. But fighting in this territory continued.

According to the spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Likhoviy, on February 25 the enemy went to storm the section of the border near the settlement of Novenkoye in Sumy Oblast with forces of up to two mechanized units. The Russians managed to cross the state border of Ukraine, but they were blocked and thrown back to the territory of the Russian Federation.

Likhovoy reported that Russian troops will continue to attempt assault operations with infantry groups. He also added that the Defense Forces are taking measures to prevent the enemy from cutting off Ukrainian logistics.

On March 1, DeepState stated that the biggest problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region is the enemy’s fire control over all logistics of the Ukrainian military. According to experts, since January, the Russians have been accumulating their capabilities to control the movement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but Ukraine has not had the necessary solutions to solve this problem.
