The security forces came to search the SMM editor of Navalny’s headquarters in Moscow. They beat him, demanding the password from the telegram

The security forces searched an apartment in Lyubertsy near Moscow, where SMM editor of Navalny’s headquarters in Moscow Alexander Shepelev and journalist of Mediazona Olga Romashova live. Romashova reported this to the editorial board. 

According to the journalist, the security forces broke into the apartment and forced her and Shepelev to lie on the floor. After that, Romashova was locked in the kitchen, and Shepelev was demanded passwords to unlock the devices.

“They beat me to say the password. Sasha said that they beat him in the legs and pressed on his neck. They locked me in the kitchen, I heard him shouting simply “Aaa” and “I am in pain,” Romashova said. According to her, Shepelev did not say passwords.

After the search, Shepelev was taken for interrogation on the  “sanitary case” . Romashova stayed at home.

Later, “Apology of Protest” reported that Shepelev was a witness in the “sanitary case”; on April 22, he was to appear for interrogation at the Investigative Committee. In the protocol of the search, Shepelev indicated that he was beaten, demanding to provide the login and password for the telegram.
