On the night of August 2, the Saratov region was attacked by drones. Explosions were heard in the regional capital: the Saratov Oil Refinery was hit.

There were also reports of an attack on Engels: a military airbase was previously targeted. Details were collected by the Telegram channel Exilenova+, which later reported another attack on the logistics facility of the Russian marketplace Wildberries – this time near Samara.

Hits on Saratov

Exilenova+ reported that the Saratov refinery was attacked by Defense Forces strike drones at around 3:30 a.m. on August 2.

“Correspondents” from the scene, in videos leaked online at the height of the attack, claimed that the plant had been hit at least twice.

Almost simultaneously, footage of the fire at this factory began to appear.

Falcon Insight analyzed footage from the network and reached preliminary conclusions regarding the damage in the following areas:

• Catalytic reforming units LCh-35-11/600 : 51°27’30.19″N 45°56’14.30″E
• ЕЛОУ-АВТ-6 installations : 51°27’23.26″N 45°56’12.08″E
• Catalytic reforming units L-35-11/300 : 51°27’30.40″N 45°56’27.87″E
• Pentane-hexane fraction isomerization units : 51°27’23.32″N 45°56’28.77″E

“One of the fire centers may be the result of a flare installation burning,” they specified.

Attack on Engels

It was also noisy in neighboring Engels: according to the Russians, the Engels-2 military airfield arrived there.

Analysts from the world.militares community also lean towards the version that it did arrive at the airfield.

“It is reported that Ukrainian troops attacked the air base in Engels. Footage shared by residents shows the moment of the explosion on the territory of the base,” world.militares noted, also briefly mentioning the damage to the oil refinery in Saratov.

The Governor of the Saratov Region, Roman Busargin, acknowledged the attack.

He wrote that Ukrainian drones caused ” damage to civilian infrastructure in Saratov and Engels,” and first reported injuries and then two deaths as a result of the attack.

Wildberries warehouse on fire in Novosimeykino near Samara

The attacks were not limited to the Saratov region this morning.

Explosions were also reported in the Samara region.

It soon became known that the Defense Forces had struck another Wildberries logistics center – on the territory of the Novosemeykino industrial park in the settlement of the same name near Samara.

At first, a small amount of smoke rose above the object, but very quickly 
the fire spread rapidly.

Wildberries tried to save “face”.

The fact of the attack was acknowledged there. However, according to the company’s press service, it was not a fire that occurred in the warehouse engulfed in flames, but an “ignition.”

“Firefighters are working on site. There are no preliminary injuries. Logistics chains have been rebuilt, deliveries are being received, and orders are being shipped to other facilities,” Wildberries said, without saying a word about the fate of the goods that were in Novosimeykino.

“The Wildberries distribution center in the village of Novosemeykino was hit. The logistics complex with an area of ​​178,600 m² is one of the company’s key hubs in the Volga region. The center provides distribution and delivery of goods for the Samara region and neighboring regions, supporting the operation of the Wildberries logistics network in the central part of European Russia. It is significant that racist symbols were painted next to the facility. Coordinates: 53.389975, 50.332925,” Exile+ noted.

As OBOZ.UA reported, the day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the damage to the Ufa refinery.

The distance to the target is almost 1,600 km as the crow flies.
