Small arms fire was heard near the station.

Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency, while at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant , heard explosions at different distances from the facility every day over the past week.

“Several times, sounds appeared to be heard near the object, presumably from the initial artillery fire,” said the agency’s general director, Rafael Grossi, as quoted on the organization’s website.

According to IAEA inspectors, small arms fire was heard near the station on the nights of March 22 and 27. In addition, the air raid alarm sounded at the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

“Yesterday, an air raid alarm sounded at the site, due to which the planned visit of the IAEA team to the dry spent fuel installation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant was postponed until late evening of the same day,” Grossi added.

Inspectors have still not received timely and proper access to all critical areas, including some parts of the turbine halls, the isolation gate of the Zaporozhye NPP cooling pond and the 330 kV outdoor distribution point. at the neighboring Zaporozhye thermal power plant. The IAEA is aware of images of Russian troops and equipment in one of the turbine halls of the station, which were distributed on social networks.

It is noted that Zaporizhia NPP recently began draining one of the sprinkler pools of the 5th power unit in order to clean it, which will last about three weeks, after which the sprinkler pool of the 6th unit will also be cleaned.
