The brutal attack by Russian occupation forces on Ukraine on July 8 was a military-political act of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin and his entourage. This opinion was expressed by former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko.

On air on the Espresso TV channel , he noted that this terrorist attack was planned. Russia had stockpiled various types of missiles and used everything it had during the attack.

“These were aeroballistic missiles that the Russians launched from MIG-31. The missiles were also launched from ground-based launchers. Modern Kh-101 missiles were launched from Tu-95MS air platforms. The Russians also launched old Kh-22 missiles, which have high speed, from Tu-22M3. Perhaps these were the very planes and missiles that we transferred to the Russians at the time. We must remember who did this and how, and what is happening now,” he said.

The lieutenant general noted that Russia is also upgrading the Kh-101 and Kalibr missiles – the enemy is using heat traps. At the same time, the Russians launched the missiles in such a way that they would fly at a low altitude.

“I believe that this was a military-political act by Putin and his entourage. They needed to organize a crime on a large scale to show that they will not allow Ukraine into NATO,” Igor Romanenko stated.
