On the night of March 29, the Defense Forces attacked the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Region for the third time in the past week. A new fire broke out in the port, where the fire after previous arrivals has not yet been extinguished.
The attack was confirmed by the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko. And the Telegram channel Supernova+ claims that another tank at the Novatek terminal in the port caught fire.
What is known
Drozdenko announced at 03:42 a.m. that the new attack on the port of Ust-Luga was successful. Initially, he wrote about “damage” on the territory of the port, but later corrected the message, stating that the “fire was extinguished.”
By 06:33, judging by the message from the governor of the Leningrad region, Russian air defense had “downed” almost 60 drones, and “localization of the fire” was also ongoing.
The Russian official did not specify what exactly is burning in the port of Ust-Luga. However, Supernova+ claims that after the new strikes, “another tank at the Novatek terminal” caught fire.
Supernova+ also publishes footage of what is likely a new attack on the port.
Footage from the Leningrad region is also circulating online, showing the sky covered in black smoke. However, it remains unclear whether this smoke is a result of previous damage (as of March 28, the fire had been extinguished for four days ) or, in particular, a nighttime strike on the port.
As OBOZ.UA reported, on the night of March 25, a massive fire broke out in the Russian port of Ust-Luga after a drone attack. According to geointelligence analysis, the NOVATEK-Ust-Luga plant was hit next.
And on March 27, the ports of Ust-Luga and Prymorsk were again under fire as a result of a new effective attack by the Defense Forces.
After these two attacks, the port of Ust-Luga will be able to function, at best, only half-fully.
