The Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country, Russia, has acknowledged the start of a new offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region. They stated that the Ukrainian defenders launched a counterattack ostensibly to stop the Russian offensive.

In particular, the Russian Defense Ministry claims that Ukrainian troops “launched a counterattack” on Sunday, January 5, at around nine in the morning (eight in Kyiv). The Ukrainian Armed Forces assault group allegedly included two tanks, a roadblock vehicle, and 12 armored combat vehicles with landing troops.

As OBOZ.UA reported, Russian propagandists on Sunday began complaining about the breakthrough of Ukrainian troops in Kursk. According to them, the Armed Forces of Ukraine used armored vehicles, electronic warfare, demining equipment, and electronic warfare, which makes Russian UAVs ineffective.

According to Z-“military experts”, Ukrainian defenders attacked the Russians in several directions, and the goal is to capture Kurchatov and the nuclear power plant.

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov arrived in Kursk to assist the Russian army. Russia claims that his visit is supposedly planned.

  1. “According to Z-“military experts”, Ukrainian defenders attacked the Russians in several directions, and the goal is to capture Kurchatov and the nuclear power plant.”

Hmm … maybe, maybe not. We’ll see what the goal of the AFU is. It’s never easy to second guess them.
At any rate, Ukraine’s counterattack now seems official.

    • I doubt Ukraine have the resouces to take Kurchatov, it’s 40 km from the front line, but maybe Ukraine have killed so many Norks and orcs that they are short of manpower.

      • It would be great if they could. But, I’m afraid we don’t know half of what’s going on. Maybe you’re right, and the orcs are severely short on manpower. They are already short on everything else, so it seems.

  2. ‘arrived in Kursk to assist the Russian army’

I’m sure he will be a great help.

As with all that type, right behind his men.

  3. “Yevkurov, to Kursk, inspect troops”, “But they are either dead, maimed, or only speak Korean”, “No matter, bring lime, duct tape and a translator”, “Yes comrade… theres no 3 story building there, right?”
