Border guards claim that Basivka is not under Russian control.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the capture of the village of Basivka in Sumy region , but the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine called this message a “disinformation campaign.”

“Units of the North Group of Forces liberated the settlement of Basivka in the Sumy region during offensive operations,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The comment of the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, on this matter was published by military correspondent Andriy Tsaplienko.

“The enemy continues its disinformation campaign regarding the capture of settlements in the Sumy region,” Tsaplienko quoted Demchenko as saying.

“In Basivka, the occupiers are trying to carry out offensive actions with small assault groups, but they are being destroyed by our units of the Defense Forces. Russian groups are currently present in Basivka, but the village is not under their control, hostilities are ongoing,” the border guards spokesman noted.
