Russian Embassy in Turkey

The Russian Embassy in Ankara advised Russians to “carefully weigh the advisability” of flying Turkish Airlines. This is how the press service of the embassy commented on reports that the Turkish carrier is removing Russians from transit flights to Latin American countries.

“Indeed, in recent weeks there have been cases where Russian citizens who are transiting through Istanbul airports to Latin America are denied boarding. At the same time, it happens that airline employees do not behave quite correctly,” the press service writes.

The embassy called the exclusion of Russians from transit flights a “serious problem,” but the airline explains what is happening with the strict rules for accepting Russian citizens established by Latin American countries.

The diplomatic mission also noted that the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul drew the carrier’s attention to the “unhealthy situation that has arisen,” and the embassy contacted the Turkish Foreign Ministry with an official note. “We have not yet received a clear response,” the press service added.

Russians began to be removed from flights to Latin American countries in Turkey at the end of February. According  to Russia’s Consul General in Istanbul, Andrei Buravov, the problem has since become “systematic.” According to  the Shot telegram channel, in recent months, about a thousand Russians have been unable to fly from Turkey to Latin America. The Association of Tour Operators of Russia advised Russian citizens  not to use the services of Turkish Airlines on April 11.

    • Man it’s unwise to lump all Muslims with putinaZi scum. I have a longstanding friendship with three generations of a Krym Tatar family. They are extremely hygienic people. Their homes are pristine.
Muslims fight on both sides. The good ones fight for Ukraine. The bad ones fight for putler’s vermin army, although many are pressed.
One in four of every Ukrainian battalion contains Muslim soldiers. There are so many that they had to recruit a new team of Muslim chaplains in 2022. Some battalions are Chechens:
      Sheikh Mansur Battalion, Krym battalion,
the Dzhokhar Dudayev Battalion and several others. They’ve been in action since 2014. Collectively they refer themselves as the armed forces of the Chechen republic of Ichkeria.

“ZAPORIZHZHIA, Ukraine — Mansur was 13 when Russian soldiers destroyed his village ofSamashki during Chechnya’s first war for independence against Russia.
Wielding flamethrowers, the Russians burned Mansur’s neighbors alive in their homes, threw grenades into basements and executed men.”

Everything the putinaZis do in Ukraine, they already did in Chechnya, Syria and Afghanistan. That’s why men from those lands fight for Ukraine.
There were several Tatar battalions, but they were incorporated into the Ukrainian regulars.

      • Sorry to have stepped on your foot, Scradge. But, I wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve been shopping or out in some other public place and had my breath taken away by the stink from them. Even their women have strong body odors. But, let me say at this point that not all are like that, of course.

        • The Koran has strict instructions as regards ablutions. So if you come across a smelly one, it could be that they are lapsed, which is common.
People from third world countries in general have different hygiene practices and they bring them with them to the west. I’m sure you came across some central and South Americans? Some of them stink like sewage.
But my main point is that the Ukraine armed forces can’t do without their Muslim volunteers, so we should always be mindful of their contribution and target our criticisms accordingly.
The Ukrainian Minister of Defense is Rustem Umerov; a Tatar.
