The information that has been circulating on the Web throughout today has been confirmed – the captain of the cruiser Moskva died as a result of the destruction of the ship.

According to the State Border Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the death of Anton Valeryevich Kuprin.

The official statement says that the captain died “during an explosion and fire on board the former flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.” The Ministry of Defense allegedly was “shocked by this sad news.”
