The Russian Ministry of Defense has published a cynical statement about a massive nighttime attack on Kyiv and the region , which resulted in dozens of people being injured and numerous destructions of civilian infrastructure.

In particular, the Russian agency confirmed the strike with Oreshnik ballistic missiles. Recall that the Ukrainian Air Force report mentioned only one missile.

“A massive strike was carried out with Oreshnik ballistic missiles, Iskander aeroballistic missiles, Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles and Zircon cruise missiles, air-, sea- and land-based cruise missiles, as well as strike unmanned aerial vehicles,” the message states.

The military department of the aggressor country justified the strike by stating that it was carried out in response to “Ukraine’s terrorist attacks on civilian objects on Russian territory.”

The Russian Defense Ministry also claims that strikes were carried out “on military command facilities, air bases, and enterprises of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine” and that “the objectives of the strike were achieved and all designated objects were hit.”

Recall, on May 22, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin threatened Ukraine with a retaliatory strike after the attack on a dormitory in Starobilsk. Putin denied the assumption that the drones hit the building due to the work of air defense or electronic warfare. He claims that there were no military facilities nearby. At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine  stated that one of the headquarters of the Rubicon unit in the area of ​​the city of Starobilsk was hit.
