Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov awarded the commander of the corvette “Soobrazitely” who fired flares at a Danish Armed Forces helicopter in international waters.
This is stated in a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Censor.NET reports.
The ship’s commander received an award

The Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country stated that the commander of the corvette “Soobrazitely” was awarded for “competent and decisive actions in preventing a provocation by a Danish Air Force helicopter in the Baltic Sea.”
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the corvette, while performing a task in the southwestern part of the Baltic Sea, detected an air target, which it identified as a Fennec helicopter of the Danish Air Force, “which was following a course to approach the Russian warship and did not respond to calls via the international communication channel.”
“In order to prevent provocation by the Danish helicopter, the commander of the corvette decided to fire two red signal flares, after which the helicopter left the area where the Russian warship was located,” the report says.
