“From June 7, by order of the commander of the Vostok Military District, military cargo traffic has been prohibited along the E58-Porozhnecha highway (the nickname of the R-280 Novorossiya), a section of the Mariupol-Berdyansk-Melitopol-Simferopol TOT, which has already decreased by 71% in two weeks,” the commander noted.
According to Brovdy, freight traffic on the aforementioned route has decreased by 71% over the past 14 days. In mid-May, the total traffic on the route was 11 thousand vehicles (Vehicles) per day, including 3.8 freight vehicles/day, and as of early June, it was already 6,500 VH/day, including 1.1 thousand freight vehicles.
At the same time, the SBS commander stated that “there is no question of total fire control of the route.”
