During the month of fighting in the Konstantinovka direction, total Russian combat
losses reached almost a thousand soldiers. The enemy lost approximately two battalions in killed and wounded.
The determination with which the Russian command is “sending” its units to defend Kostyantynivka is explained by the fact that Moscow considers this city to be the “gateway” to the Kramatorsk-Konstyantynivka agglomeration. This was stated by Serhiy Khominsky, the presiding officer of the 100th separate mechanized brigade, in a comment to LIGA.net .
Russia “erased” two battalions of manpower in Kostyantynivka in a month
According to military data, from May 16 to June 16, only in the defense zone of the 100th Motorized Rifle Brigade, the Russians lost 395 soldiers killed and 515 wounded.
“In total, we are talking about 910 occupiers – that is, two battalions that were wiped out,” Khominsky emphasized.
He added that there are currently up to 130 Russian soldiers in Kostyantynivka. They are located in different parts of the city. They are mostly well-trained occupiers.
“It is obvious that these are not “scumbags”, these are not yesterday’s recruits . These are well-trained stormtroopers and scouts who enter the city to perform certain tasks,” said a representative of the brigade.
According to Khominsky, the command set the tasks for the Russians who infiltrated Kostyantynivka to disrupt Ukrainian logistics, set up ambushes, and conduct local assaults.
The presiding officer of the 100th Motorized Rifle Brigade emphasized that Konstantinovka remains one of Russia’s key targets, as it is the “gateway” to the Kramatorsk-Konstantinovka agglomeration.
He also said that in the brigade’s area of responsibility, the Russians have dramatically increased the use of drones – both reconnaissance and FPV, attack UAVs and drones for remote mining. In this way, they are trying to secure air superiority.
As OBOZ.UA reported, according to the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshyn, the occupiers have had major problems with drones on the southern front. A significant portion of enemy UAVs are failing before they can even complete combat missions.
The causes are technical malfunctions, operational errors, and even “friendly fire.”
