The Ukrainian military promised to destroy the enemy with special ferocity.
Ukraine will respond harshly to the Russian attack on Sumy , which was carried out on civilians on a church holiday. This was stated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On the day of a great Christian holiday, Palm Sunday, Russian troops committed another crime against humanity: they struck the center of the city of Sumy with ballistic missiles. Dozens of civilians were killed and injured,” the report says.
According to the military, the occupiers are once again resorting to their usual tactics. Having failed to achieve strategic successes on the battlefield, the enemy is fighting against the civilian population and grossly violating international law, the laws and customs of war.
“Russia once again demonstrates: it does not seek peace. Its goal is to sow fear. But Russia will only receive our fury and inevitable retaliation. Our response will be tough. We will destroy the occupiers, their military facilities, weapons and equipment – wherever they are. Russian war crimes have no statute of limitations. The criminals must suffer the punishment they deserve,” the General Staff said.
The 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade has already shown how it is preparing for revenge. Galician paratroopers published a photo with shells that read “For Sumy.”
“Retribution will not be long in coming! Each of our paratroopers will destroy the enemy with special fury today. Bullets, mines, shells and drones – all this is already flying at the enemy. The 80th Airborne Assault Galician Brigade expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased. We share this pain with you,” the paratroopers said.

This horrific atrocity is entirely down to the intense evil of putlerstan.
That said, the recalcitrance of Ukraine’s so called friends also played a part. Ukraine by now should have had an integrated air defence system, instead of a hotch-potch. Ukrainian children remain vulnerable until its cities are properly defended.
That means a NFZ and proper air defence.
Now they can’t take revenge on the scale that is needed because a) they don’t have enough long range fires, b) not enough aircraft, c) not enough cluster munitions, d) not enough modern MLRS’s and not enough ground troops to crush the putinaZis.

The US Ambassador to Ukraine published an even more disgraceful response on Twitter.
“Our prayers are with the people of Sumy,” Brink concluded in her statement, which did not include any condemnation or criticism of Russia.
