North Korea ( DPRK ) can send up to 100,000 of its military personnel to help Russia in its war against Ukraine. And this will definitely become a big problem for Ukraine, believes NSU reserve major, veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, military analyst Oleksiy Hetman.

“Considering that the North Koreans do not count on anything. With no laws, no rules, then, having an army of more than a million, then half a million, for example, as many as there are now slightly more Russians on the front line, it is quite possible to assume that they can send to this war,” he explained in a comment on the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel .

The veteran noted that Pyongyang perfectly understands that South Korea will not attack the DPRK.

“North Korea is a small country in terms of size. But their army is about the same as the army of the Russian Federation. And therefore, let it not be half a million, but even 10, 20, 30, 100 thousand – it is quite possible that they can do it.” – thinks Hetman.

According to him, such strengthening of the occupiers will be a big problem for Ukraine. It is likely that additional forces from the DPRK will not be dispersed among various units of the Russian army, but will be formed into a separate unit if they join military operations.

“But it is quite possible that these military personnel will be deployed in the rear, not on the front line. And then those (Russian occupiers – ed.) who are currently deployed in the rear, they can be moved directly to the front line,” stated Oleksiy Hetman.
