Five Reasons the US should not help Russia subjugate Ukraine

Among all the other things that are happening, we have a US administration trying to bully Ukrainians into accepting Russia’s proposal that their sovereignty be undone. Aside from the naked injustice of this, there are five basic practical reasons why it would make the world far more dangerous. The old Russian demand for the capitulation – in effect, the destruction – of Ukraine is once again being re-branded as a “new peace plan”, allegedly backed by American “security guarantees”. One would need to be a fool with no knowledge of even recent history to believe in the viability of any part of the proposed “plan”.

Very short observation:
If Steve Witkoff is in charge of a peace plan – it means that Kirill Dmitriev is in charge of the plan. Moscow is in charge. Cui prodest?

How do you negotiate with someone whose favorite pastime is doing this to an apartment blocks full of peacefully sleeping families with kids? you do not. if i have learned one thing about russian imperial warfare, you hit back as hard as possible so they never even think to try again.
An imperial culture that doesn’t assign any value to a human life, dignity or decency, won’t respond to moral virtue signaling, like condemnation, outrage or shaming.
But it will respond to actions that chip away from its “greatness”: a) sanctions that make the empire poorer, crippled and looking outdated; b) deep strikes on critical war infrastructure that show that the empire lost the control over its own skies; c) investments in cutting-edge arms to make the empire look cringe and awkward on the battlefield; d) visa and foreign partnerships freezes to signal that association with an empire is now embarrassing and no imperial subjects are welcomed anywhere abroad.
That’s nothing new. but the history teaches us that it is all exceptionally effective against such type of unhinged imperialism.
