The Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus opened a criminal case on inciting ethnic hatred against the judge of the District Court of Warsaw Dariusz Lubowski, who ruled to refuse to extradite the founder of the Nexta telegram channel Stepan Putilo to the Belarusian side. This was reported on the website of the department.
“During the meeting, Dariusz Lyubovsky publicly disseminated deliberately unreliable information aimed at inciting ethnic hatred and social discord, insulted and slandered top officials of the Republic of Belarus,” the Belarusian Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement.
The District Court of Warsaw considered the demand of Belarus for the extradition of Stepan Putilo on January 26. Lyubovsky decided not to extradite the founder of Nexta, and also delivered a speech. According to Belsat, the judge said that there is no judicial system in Belarus and “you can’t extradite a person just because a psychopathic dictator wants it.”
