“The head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, stated that “a peaceful solution to Ukraine implies recognition of the sovereignty of the Russian Federation’s borders.”

Among Moscow’s other conditions are Ukraine’s non-nuclear status and “the abolition of discriminatory laws.”

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed that Russia’s occupation of part of Ukraine is “firmly based on the wording of the UN Charter, numerous conventions, and the results of referendums,” which Ukraine and most of the world do not recognize.”
