Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said that Ukraine has no place in NATO, and in the event of a Russian offensive, Zagreb would distance itself from the events as much as possible and withdraw all the military from the region.

Answering a question about how Croatia would react to the situation in Ukraine, the President of Croatia said: “We will have nothing to do with this and we owe nothing. If there is an escalation, we will withdraw (from the region – UNIAN) the last Croatian soldier.”
In addition, Milanovic made several scandalous statements regarding Ukraine, mentioning corruption, the events of the Revolution of Dignity and the desire of Ukraine to join NATO and the EU.
“Ukraine has no place in NATO. When Ukraine changed power, then this movement, which was not democratic, was a coup, during which 50 people were killed. The story was like this – Ukraine goes to the West, without asking anything from Russia, to the EU milk rivers are waiting – jelly banks. Ukraine is still one of the most corrupt countries, the EU has not given Ukraine anything,” he said.
Milanovic admitted that he would by all means prevent any involvement of Croatia in the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
“Plenkovic (Croatian Prime Minister Andriy Plenkovic, a longtime friend of Ukraine – UNIAN) can threaten as much as he wants. Croatia must run from this like a fire. Croatia will not be a firefighter in this,” Milanovic said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Vice Admiral Kai-Achim Schönbach, Commander of the German Navy, made scandalous statements about Ukraine earlier. He stated that Ukraine would never return the occupied Crimea and it should not be accepted into NATO.
After the Kai-Achim scandal, Schönbach resigned .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine demanded from the German government a public refutation of the statements of the commander of the Navy.
On this occasion, the German ambassador was summoned to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry .
Subsequently, Schönbach said that his uncoordinated statements regarding Crimea and NATO expansion to the East are his own opinion, and not the official position of the federal government.
