The Pope suggested that Ukrainians forgive Russia and not respond “blow for blow”

Pope Francis took part in a video conference with 250 young Ukrainians from Kyiv and various cities in Europe and America.

Pope Francis  has called on young Ukrainians to “forgive” the Russian occupiers, even though “the war leaves deep wounds in our hearts.”

During the event, organized by Apostolic Nuncio Visvaldas Kulbokas and Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the Pope spoke to groups of young Ukrainians from Kiev and other cities in Europe and America. And he emphasized that Ukrainians should not give in to the instinct to “fight back,” Vatican News writes .

The Pope also spoke of the importance of loving one’s homeland, recalling the example of Ukrainian serviceman Alexander, a soldier who went to the front with a small Gospel in his pocket. “Remember the heroes who gave their lives for your country,” he said.

Pope Francis stressed that forgiveness is always one of the most difficult things for a person. Even for himself:

“But one thought helps me: I must forgive in the same way as I have been forgiven. Each of us must remember how he was forgiven. The art of forgiveness is not easy, but we must move forward and always forgive.”

I won’t put it in writing because I am not anti-Catholic.
    Just anti this abomination.

Forgiving for killing all their young and middle aged men.

Forgiving for dividing up moskovia into its constituent parts.

Forgiving Ukraine for not allowing the moskali to ever have armed forces again.

  3. I don’t get it. When the stupidest thing has been vomited from this pathetic pope’s vile mouth, he manages to get even more pathetic. How is this possible?

  4. It would have looked a lot better if this bag of shit had said russia should beg Ukrainians for forgiveness.

  5. […] to urge them to forgive their Russian enemies. The headline of the journal Ukraine Today read: “The Pope suggested that Ukrainians forgive Russia and not respond ‘blow for blow.’” At the start of the Zoom meeting, Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the primate of the Ukrainian […]
