As a $60 billion US aid package critical to Ukraine’s defense stalls in Congress, Kyiv Post correspondents took to the streets of Kyiv and Washington D.C. to ask ordinary people the question “Should Western Support for Ukraine Be Increased or Reduced?
By and large, the passersby Kyiv Post spoke with were in favor of increased aid to Ukraine – for a variety of reasons.
Among those that Kyiv Post spoke with, some viewed increased support as necessary for humanitarian purposes, others as a necessary means of defending democratic governments and others cautioned that without Western support, Ukraine might see other population centers like Avdiivka fall to Russia.

If this vox pop is representative, then support remains strong for Ukraine in the country where it REALLY counts.
I get that Americans in general; not just magaputler cultists, feel Europe has not done enough. Because they are right. Initially the EU’s response was feeble. It’s improved but still poor. France was crap but is slowly improving. Germany on the other hand was also crap, but Scholz had a Damascene moment and doubled support. A welcome surprise.
It has been proved beyond any doubt that the MAGA’s cost argument is bogus. See the WP article that proves this. Hardly any money leaves America and most of it creates work for skilled technicians.
The anti-Ukraine Americans are the descendants of the American Hitler fans of WW2. They even called themselves “America First.”
Charles Lindbergh:
“The anti-Ukraine Americans are the descendants of the American Hitler fans of WW2.”
If such people exist (outside of your twisted imagination) it would be like 6 people out of 330,000,000 and I’ve never heard of them. Care to show this audience ONE person’s quote proclaiming themselves “anti-Ukraine”?
All blockers of Ukraine Aid are collaborating with genocide. It’s all happened before.
Charles Lindbergh:
“America First” :
From 2017:
“Lindbergh was an icon in Europe as well, and he moved to England in the late 1930s. By 1941, though, he was back home, touring the U.S. as the leading voice of the America First Committee — an isolationist group of some 800,000 members that claimed England was trying to drag America into a war he thought it should avoid.
“I have been forced to the conclusion that we cannot win this war for England regardless of how much assistance we send. That is why the America First Committee has been formed,” Lindbergh said in 1941, just months before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that launched the U.S. into World War II.”
“A few momentous years later, after the devastation of the war, isolationism was out of fashion. Instead, America became the driving force in establishing a global web that defines the world to this day — NATO, the United Nations, a strong U.S. military presence in Asia, open seas, a host of trade agreements.
These arrangements are now being challenged by President Trump. He has often described them as a burden the U.S. should shed, and he has distilled his approach into the phrase “America First.”
“From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land. From this day forward, it’s going to be only America first, America first,” Trump said at his inaugural on Jan. 20.”
So, if Zelensky came out tomorrow and said his policy was Ukraine First, you would disagree with him?
Notice Red Square, no response to your question about Zelensky and Ukraine First. Keep up the good work balancing ukrainetoday re US internal politics.
It always amazes me that people who for all the right reasons are opposed to totalitarian Putin, have no hesitancy using the same totalitarian attack techniques against anyone who doesn’t immediately support their every opinion.
Lindbergh was a nazi sympathizer. Today’s Lindberghs are also nazi sympathizers. They even have the same slogan.
Thanks for confirming that you agree with them.
Only in your world. You comprehend what you want to comprehend. That’s your problem. I see you couldn’t even answer my simple question. There is more proof you are lost. Keep it up…
“Care to show this audience ONE person’s quote proclaiming themselves “anti-Ukraine”?”
A person’s actions can show that they’re “anti-Ukraine” without them actually saying so.
Since you asked for one example – Fucker Carlsonov. Can you honestly claim that he’s *not* anti-Ukraine?
Other possible examples include:
– Senator Rand Paul, who has consistently opposed aid to Ukraine, including recently stalling a bipartisan effort to fast-track additional funding for Ukraine.
– Representative Matt Gaetz, who introduced a resolution to end Ukraine aid, signaling his stance against supporting the people of Ukraine.
– Members of the House Republican “Freedumb Cockus”, particularly, Paul Gosar, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Scott Perry, who voted against a $40 billion aid package for Ukraine and have raised other concerns about the war.
It is obvious that Ukraine cannot retake Crimea, but Ukraine could regain ground in Donbas and force Putin into painful concessions. That of course would require the Congress to approve military aid NOW!!! Trump is a foreign agent, and Mike his assistant.
Why can’t Ukraine take Crimea? With that bridge blown up, Crimea is totally useless. The russians can’t place their navy there, or planes. The logistics to the South would collapse, leaving Ukraine to block off the exits from Crimea. Of course this would need a few long range missiles, which we don’t look like getting. Maybe we could ask Iran for some.
You are a patriot, and it’s okay with me. Ukraine could not even hold Avdiivka. I’m just realistic. Knowing the true situation on the battlefield is way more valuable than dreaming, ignoring the facts, bro.
Even George S Patton couldn’t have held on to Avdiivka without weapons, it’s like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
And as a commenter at the NYT stated recently, “a butter knife”!
🤦♂️
The president of the USA doesn’t need Congress to send surplus weapons and ammo to Ukraine. That is, IF they don’t want to hold Ukraine hostage for political reasons…
The entire discussion is more than painful. Ukraine needs ammo now!
*What* surplus ammo?
