In the afternoon, February 9, the Russian occupiers dropped 7 guided bombs on the Sumy region , resulting in dead and wounded people. This was reported by the Sumy OVA .

“Today, Russian terrorists once again committed a crime against the civilian population of the Sumy region. At 13:45, enemy planes dropped 7 guided bombs in the Sumy region. As a result of the hit, residential buildings and a workshop of one of the agricultural firms were destroyed. According to preliminary information, 3 people were killed, 4 were wounded,” the report says.

It is noted that the removal of the rubble continues, all necessary services are working on site.

According to the prosecutor’s office , the enemy dropped KABs on the Yunakovskaya, Khotynskaya and Nikolaevskaya communities.

Russian guided bombs

As UNIAN reported, in December Defense Express wrote that the Russian military-industrial complex was able to complicate and improve the electronics unit in guided bombs (CAB), with which the Russian Federation regularly attacks Ukraine.

Thus, the Russians now use not only the Kometa-M navigation module, also applicable on UAVs, to equip their guided bombs, but also a complex SMART navigation controller. With reference to a study by the British research group Conflict Armament Research, it is noted that this modernization of KABs allowed the Russians to increase their range of hitting targets “by as much as 35-40 kilometers”.
