This decision may indicate a gradual shift in the balance of trust within the Western intelligence community in Europe.

Dutch intelligence agencies have limited the scope of their intelligence sharing with the United States. The heads of two key agencies—the Dutch Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) and the Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD)—announced this in an interview with the newspaper de Volkskrant.

The heads of the departments, Erik Akerbom (AIVD) and Peter Resink (MIVD), confirmed that cooperation with the American CIA and the National Security Agency has changed since the arrival of the new administration in Washington.

“It’s true that we sometimes don’t say certain things now,” Resink admitted.

“Sometimes you have to think carefully each time about whether it’s worth sharing this information,” Akerbom added.

At the same time, Dutch security services deepened cooperation with European partners, particularly the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland, and the Nordic countries. This was prompted by Russia’s war against Ukraine and the growing awareness of threats to European security.

Intelligence officials also confirmed that Russian intelligence agencies regularly carry out dozens of successful cyberattacks on the Netherlands, targeting both government agencies and private companies.

    • It should but it won’t.
I can hear him say. “They don’t matter, we don’t need anything from them, they’re a bunch of losers, I love the flag I kiss it every morning. It’s total beautiful.”

  1. Dutch intelligence suspends sharing arrangements with the US after concluding that high level intel was routinely being shared by the White House with their friends in the Kremlin.
