“The neighbors always went down to the basement, but this time they didn’t and died”: an Odessa resident talks about the horrors of the attack she survived

Odessa resident Lyubov Mikhailovna, a resident of the first floor of a house on Mikhailovskaya, where the third floor was completely burned out as a result of an enemy attack, shared the horrors of the night she experienced.

The woman is worried about her cat, who remained in the apartment. She says that at first people managed to go down to the basement, but when the house started burning, they ran to the shelter of the school.

“We were running, and the ‘shahids’ were still falling. Our neighbors died right in their apartment,” says the Odessa resident.

Another neighbor, Natalia, can’t hold back her tears – her cat is also in the house and no one knows what’s wrong with him. She and her family managed to go down to the basement.

“The three of us were sitting in the basement, we were covered with boards and we ran. I ran in, tried to find the cat, but I didn’t find it, grabbed my passport and ran to school. Our neighbors always went down to the basement, they had a big dog, Jack. He always sensed, but this time they didn’t go and died,” the Odessa resident says.

Rescuers are still flooding the building and are not yet letting residents into their apartments.

Let us recall that as a result of the night attack , two people were killed and 15 more were injured.
