Ukraine gave up its nuclear arsenal in 1994 in exchange for security guarantees from Russia, the U.S., and the U.K., only to hear in 2014 that Russia can’t be forced to leave the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions BECAUSE it has nukes.
To hear later in 2022 that Russia can’t be stopped in its second attempt to grab more Ukrainian land BECAUSE it has nukes (and Kyiv would fall in 3 days, why bother).
To hear in 2024 that Russian military assets cannot be attacked with Western weapons BECAUSE it has nukes.
To hear that the UN is incapable of forcing Russia to respect international law and throw it out of the Security Council.
And now everyone is so afraid of Russia that the latter is allowed to do whatever it wants.
The Budapest Memorandum remains the most successful Russian operation in modern history.

In the beginning of russia’s invation of Ukraine President Zelenskiy was only asking for one thing: to close the sky over Ukraine. Yet nobody helped to do that. Not even now. Thousands of bombs fall over Ukrainian people every day and nobody cares. It’s only “blah blah blah.” If politicians really wanted to end this war, it would have already ended. Yet the sky over Ukraine is open for horror and death and nobody cares. Only President Zelenskiy is doing everything in his power to protect the Ukrainian people and Ukraine.
To highlight this cowardice even more, a couple of nights back, Israel destroyed the russian air base in Syria. Not a fucking peep out of the Kremlin, it was as though it never happened. No red lines, no threats to nuke Israel, just a slap in the face to putler from the Israelis, saying don’t fuck with us, we are not the WH.
Tel Aviv-Moscow : c. 1500 miles by air. Israel has intercontinental nuclear-capable missiles.
Nuclear powers never attack each other, so the Syria strike is quite a new thing.
Ukraine knew that fact in 1994, yet they signed; believing that they would be protected. A massive and evil con trick by Clinton, who has only partially apologised. John Major has said nothing as far as I am aware. He was a friend of Boris Nemtsov; even attended his funeral, so is only too well aware of the evil of putler.
I’m afraid that Clinton and junior partner Major lit the fuses for the horror of what putler was about to unleash.
We are still waiting for someone of integrity to come along. The GOP did present to the electorate McCain and Romney, who were defeated by trash; thus paving the way for tovarisch trumpkov.
Remember that asshole Obama saying to Romney : “The 80’s want their policy back!”
Well they did and still do now.
Ukraine should tune western arms and strike RuSSia in the heart, period.
The Budapest Memorandum was the death sentence for any future hope of nuclear disarmament, or rather, by its signatories not honoring it.
