The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine has published a list of Russian military commanders who suffered large-scale losses of personnel and were awarded the highest ranks and orders for this.
All of them are subjects of numerous testimonies about war crimes, senseless assaults, and sending subordinates to almost guaranteed death. This is reported by the “I Want to Live” project.
Major General Oleg Vlasov
Commander of the 810th Separate Guards Marine Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Under his leadership, the brigade suffered catastrophic losses during the fighting in the Kherson region in 2022 – up to 85% of its personnel. Despite complaints from the military and their relatives about incompetence and disregard for the lives of soldiers, Vlasov still leads the unit and already has the title of “Hero of Russia.”
Major General Mykhailo Gudkov
Former commander of the 155th Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet, later deputy commander of the Russian Navy. During his command, the unit lost about 80% of its personnel, including in the battles near Vugledar. The brigade was awarded the Order of Suvorov and the honorary title of “Kursk”, and Gudkov received the “Hero of Russia”. The Armed Forces of Ukraine were recently liquidated.
Lieutenant General Sukhrab Akhmedov
Former commander of the 155th Brigade and the 20th Army of the Russian Federation. Known for reckless orders that led to mass casualties. In particular, in June 2023, he ordered a unit of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division to line up in an open field near Kreminna, where they were hit by HIMARS. About 100 soldiers were killed, another 100 were wounded.
Colonel General Andrey Mordvichev
The current commander of the Russian Ground Forces, former head of the 8th Army. One of the main ideologists of the “meat assault” tactics in the battles for Avdiivka. The massive losses so shocked even Russian propagandists that one of them, Andrei “Murz” Morozov, committed suicide after receiving information about the scale of the deaths. Mordvichev was awarded the title of “Hero of Russia” and the position of commander of the ground forces.
Major Borys Dudko
In addition to generals, the same honor is bestowed on “smaller” officers. For example, Major Boris Dudko, deputy commander of the 124th separate tank battalion of the 76th Guards Airborne Assault Division of the Airborne Forces. His unit is one of those that committed atrocities in Bucha and suffered serious losses during the “gesture of goodwill” – the retreat from the Kyiv region in 2022. After that, the major was awarded the title of “Hero of Russia.”

In two days, in the area of responsibility of the 1st Corps of the Azov National Guard in the Pokrovsky direction, as well as by forces of adjacent and subordinate units, 151 occupiers were eliminated , more than 70 invaders were wounded, and eight were captured.
