Iran’s statements are absurd against the background of its support for Russian aggression against Ukraine
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine has likened Iran’s threats to a serial killer’s attempt to justify his crimes.
As an UNIAN correspondent reports, this was reported by the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Heorhiy Tykhyi, to journalists. In particular, the spokesman for the foreign ministry recalled that the Iranian regime has been supporting the murders of Ukrainians for years, directly providing the aggressor state with drones and technology for the war against Ukraine.
“In this context, it is absurd when some representatives of this regime threaten Ukraine and also refer to the right to self-defense, enshrined in Article 51 of the UN Charter. It is the same as if a serial killer would justify his crimes by referring to the criminal code,” Tykhy emphasized.
As the spokesman noted, the Iranian regime must be held accountable for all its crimes against the Iranian people and other countries and peoples.
Iran’s threats towards Ukraine
As UNIAN reported, Iran has recently made threats towards Ukraine. In particular, the head of the National Security Commission of the Iranian parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, stated that any assistance from Ukraine to Israel, including drones, makes the entire Ukrainian territory a “legitimate target” for Tehran’s missile strikes.
On March 9, Bani Sabti, an expert on Iran at the Israeli Institute for National Security Studies, expressed the opinion that if the new leader of the Iranian regime, Mojtaba Khamenei, is neutralized , this could lead to stabilization of the situation in the Middle East.
He expressed confidence that the destabilization of the Middle East is happening precisely because of the Iranian regime, and the key to stability is the elimination of leader Mojtaba.
