The Ministry of Defense owed 1 billion 465 million 800 thousand hryvnias to Ukrainian servicemen .
This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine on its Facebook page.
In particular, UAH 1 billion 271 million is arrears from the payment of financial assistance for rehabilitation.
“Funding for” combat payments “to servicemen performing tasks in the area of the Joint Forces operation has also been suspended,” the statement said.
In this regard, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights receives numerous appeals from servicemen and members of their families regarding violations of constitutional rights.
It is noted that the ombudsman has already sent a request to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko, who is the head of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Wage Arrears.
“The situation with the observance of the rights of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and members of their families is under the personal control of the Commissioner,” the department concluded.
Salaries of servicemen
From January 1, 2021, Ukraine will increase payments to servicemen. The military will receive a one-time bonus after concluding the first contract with the Armed Forces.
– ordinary members – eight subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, established by law on January 1 of the calendar year (UAH 2,270) – in the amount of UAH 18,160;
– sergeants and non-commissioned officers of nine subsistence minimums – UAH 20,430;
– ten subsistence minimums for officers – UAH 22,700.
