At the request of the Ministry of Defense, the enterprises of the defense-industrial complex successfully completed preliminary projects within the framework of work on the creation of a domestic medium-range anti-aircraft missile system.

“Currently, the issue of opening research and development (R&D) and planning the necessary financial resources is being resolved. Expected characteristics – the ability of weapons to cover groups of troops and important objects of the country from aircraft, helicopters and UAVs of the enemy. The complex must also be able to perform missile defense tasks: to hit ballistic missiles and, if necessary, surface and ground targets, ”Andriy Taran stressed.

According to him, the State Enterprise Kyiv State Design Bureau LUCH and the State Enterprise Design Bureau Pivdenne are actively working on the task of creating a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile system. These projects are included in the strategy for the development of missile and jet weapons and are included in the target medium-term programs for the development of armaments and military equipment and the defense industry.
