The military command of the Russian occupation troops withdrew from Kremennaya to Rubizhne, Luhansk Oblast . This city is located 15 km south of the front line.

At the same time, Kremennaya has not yet been fired, said the head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai at  a briefing .

“The fact that our military has already liberated Kremennaya or has already entered its outskirts is not true, but fighting is already taking place not far from Kremennaya. And I can say that the military command of a certain level, which was located in Kremennaya, has now been moved to Rubizhnoye,” he said.

According to Gaidai, the invaders hoped to organize a counteroffensive towards the Liman. Ukrainian defenders prevented the implementation of the plans of the interventionists.

“They did not succeed in a counteroffensive. But they are still pulling up reserves,” the head of the UVA summed up.

The situation in the Lugansk region

On December 21, Gaidai said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces were conducting offensive operations in the direction of Svatovo and Kremennaya, which are under Russian occupation.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have probably approached Svatovo by one more settlement.
