The Kremlin says the Polish regulator’s fine against Russia’s gas monopoly Gazprom is unlikely to have a more negative effect on relations with Poland, as they are hard to call prosperous.

“I have no doubt that everything that is possible and necessary in terms of legal support for any countermeasures will be done by the corporation,” he said.
Speaking about how this move by the Polish government will affect the state of Russian-Polish relations, the president’s spokesman said that they can hardly be called prosperous and it can hardly be assumed that anything could affect their situation even more negatively.
“In general, relations are not at the proper level,” – said Peskov.
The Polish Office for Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has reportedly fined Russia’s Gazprom 29 billion zlotys (more than 6 billion euros) for failing to cooperate in an antitrust investigation into the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.
According to the decision of the regulator, five other companies were fined more than 234 million zlotys. All of them participated in the construction of the pipeline.
