The invaders stole another monument from Kherson – this time to Potemkin

In the temporarily occupied Kherson on Staroobriadnicheskaya Street, the pedestal of the monument to Grigory Potemkin was empty.

Local residents report that the invaders took the statue to the left bank of the Dnieper.

Earlier they  “evacuated” monuments to Ushakov and Suvorov.

      • There is a lot of hypocrisy in accusing russians of vandalism. Ukrainians distroyed all of the soviet time statuary in the regions under their control, and have no right to acuuse Russians of vandalism. You deserve what You get!
As an art historian, I have deserved the Nato-induced vadalism against Soviet-era statuary since 1989. If Putin restores order in the countries illegally taken over by Nato, it’s fine with me, this includes East Germany left to Nato by the crook Gorbatchev -the “acorn leaf” and other soviet time architecural monuments were destroyed in the wake of the takeover. Reaction is overdue. Stand with Russia!

        • So destroying a few monuments to a totalitarian regime, deserves mass slaughter of civilians and destruction of cities? You sound like a nazi to me.

        • I’m conflicted. I wonder if I should respond to an idiot’s moronic comments or should I just shut up and let the guy make a jerk of himself. Hmmm. Decisions decisions decisions. What to do ?
