Lubinets’ Russian colleague had previously made a similar proposal
During the humanitarian mission in Oleshki, a temporary ceasefire was declared in six settlements. This was announced during a briefing by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
“We did not discuss individual settlements. We discussed the territory of the Kherson region. I will not name individual settlements. We are talking about six settlements. This is the Oleshkiv territorial community, in essence,” Lubinets said.
He added that he had discussed with the Russian side the extension of the ceasefire in the Kherson region. At the same time, Lubinets admitted the possibility of extending the ceasefire to other regions.
“We agreed that it should primarily concern settlements located in the Kherson region. And then, if possible, expand this positive experience to the territory of other regions. I know that the Russian side, the Russian Ombudsman, also had a press conference today. She officially appealed to Melania Trump to try to implement similar humanitarian missions in other settlements,” Lubinets added.
Truce in Oleshki: what is known
Earlier, Lubinets said that the temporary truce between Ukraine and the Russian Federation in the Oleshki area lasted 5 days, 19 hours and 59 minutes . According to Lubinets, both the Ukrainian and Russian sides fulfilled all the obligations they had undertaken within the framework of this humanitarian mission. Lubinets noted that in addition to people, animals were also taken out of the occupied Oleshki.
Also at this briefing, Lubinets announced plans to create a separate Center for the return of Ukrainian civilians from Russian prisons and temporarily occupied territories.
