Personnel purges in Russia continue.
Yuriy Kuznetsov, head of the Main Personnel Department of the Ministry of Defense, was detained in Russia , writes TASS. Previously, he headed the Eighth Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (Service for the Protection of State Secrets).
The Russian project of the Cheka-OGPU , citing a source, writes that the lieutenant general was detained yesterday. Around 05:00, counterintelligence officers in balaclavas and with crowbars “took out” the gates and windows of his mansion, acting harshly.
At the time of the assault, Kuznetsov and his wife, a former employee of the Committee on Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign Countries, the Strategic Missile Forces Academy and other structures of the Ministry of Defense, were in the building. “Literally pulled out of bed” and taken for questioning. One of his relatives needed medical help, his wife will still remain in the Investigative Committee.
