Detained deputy of the Novorossiysk City Duma, chairman of the council of the local branch of the Fair Russia party Mikhail Erokhin. This is reported by the Investigative Committee.
A criminal case has been initiated against Erokhin for attempted fraud. According to the UK, he received 2.1 million rubles from a representative of the Novorossiysk administration. In return, the deputy promised that “citizens under his control” would not stage provocations in the elections, submit false reports of violations and somehow still hinder the voting, says the UK.
According to the department, Erokhin extorted a bribe from a representative of the Novorossiysk administration a month ago. The person who gave the money to the deputy was acting under the control of law enforcement agencies. Erokhin was detained after receiving a bribe.
Elections of various levels are held in Russia on September 11-13. Deputies of the City Duma are elected in Novorossiysk. “Fair Russia” nominated 22 candidates, including Erokhin himself.
