The head of the Vasileostrovsky department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg, police colonel Vladimir Titkov, resigned from the internal affairs bodies of his own free will, Fontanka reports, without specifying the source of the information.

According to the newspaper, a few days ago 53-year-old Titkov was “advised to retire,” and on March 22 he wrote a report asking him to retire. On March 23, the head of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs said goodbye to the personnel.

In January, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on abuse of office against Konstantin Golubev, an operational officer of the criminal investigation department of the Vasileostrovsky department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to media reports , Golubev was suspected of having sold the data of air passengers who flew with politician Alexei Navalny on the day of his  poisoning . According to the investigation, at the request of Golubev, his colleague Roman Gladyshev found this information in the “Search-Magistral” service database.

The arrest of the producer of the Baza publication Miaile Myachulite in St. Petersburg at the end of February may be connected with the criminal case. Investigators interrogated her for seven hours, not allowing her lawyer. According  to Novaya Gazeta, Myachulite told during interrogation that she asked her acquaintances from the Vasileostrovsky department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to help find out who flew with Alexei Navalny on the day of his poisoning.
