He expressed the opinion that this conflict is not limited only to Ukraine, so Europe must respond in a completely different way.

Former Vice-Chancellor and ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Sigmar Gabriel called for “ crush Russia like the Soviet Union once did.”
According to Bild , the politician spoke with these words on television. He also explained why NATO allies have different assessments of the provision of weapons to Ukraine and the possibility of using them.
“There is a difference between Macron on the one hand and Scholz and some of the Americans on the other. It is in their view of this war,” the German politician expressed his opinion.
“Should we be afraid of its escalation and the possibility of ending up in a situation like 1914, when a big war eventually comes? Or is it more like a situation like 1938? That’s what Macron thinks, I think,” Gabriel said.
He added that if Putin wins, whether on the battlefield or at the negotiating table, it will only increase his appetite and he will continue.
“Macron is right. We see that the Russian Federation is already trying to resist the West in many other regions. I believe that this conflict is much larger than just Ukraine. Therefore, we must react in a completely different way, not only through military means. We must crush the Russians , as it once happened with the Soviet Union, that is, technologically, politically,” Gabriel emphasized.

Where did this guy come from? Haven’t heard such aggressiveness from anyone in Germany. I know I’m exaggerating, but there isn’t too much, “full speed ahead damn the torpedoes” from a German. It’s nice to hear.
Believe it or not, Bill, but Germany does have one of those types of politicians, besides Herr Gabriel. But, she’s a woman.
“We must crush the Russians , as it once happened with the Soviet Union, that is, technologically, politically,”
You could start by implementing crushing sanctions, followed by Taurus missiles. We’ve had enough talking, action is long overdue.
It’s always the Ex Chancellor or Ex-prime minister talking about how to disarm Russia. Never the people who are actually in the serving position.
The West has plenty of people with brains, foresight, courage, and determination, like Herr Gabriel, but why are none in leadership positions???
