Only those who are officially not subject to conscription will be allowed in.
Denmark will no longer provide temporary protection for Ukrainian male refugees aged 23 to 60. Kyiv Independent reports this , citing a statement from the Danish government.
The publication notes that Ukrainian men aged 22 to 60 are prohibited from leaving their homeland without good reason. Therefore, the Danish government’s decision is aimed at preventing Ukrainian men from evading military service.

“Denmark stands firmly on the side of Ukraine in its fight for freedom. That is why we are now amending the Ukrainian special law, because it was not intended that our legalization rules would be used to evade mobilization,” said Danish Immigration Minister Morten Bedskov.
And while Denmark will no longer accept new Ukrainian male refugees, these changes will not affect the 47,600 Ukrainians already in the country. They will be allowed to remain in Denmark.
In addition, the new rule will not apply to Ukrainian men who are officially exempt from military service.
Denmark decided to change its position amid discussions about the need to revise EU rules on granting temporary protection to Ukrainian refugees. Several European countries are considering introducing their own national laws on restrictions on accepting Ukrainian refugees.
According to the Kyiv Independent, the Danish government’s decision has already drawn criticism from the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O’Flaherty. According to him, it is “an example of a broader trend to limit the protection of the 4.3 million Ukrainians currently displaced in Europe.”
O’Flaherty noted that blanket exemptions risk becoming human rights violations, and that “issues related to conscription, including conscientious objection, may give rise to legitimate claims for protection.”
It is worth noting that the rules for accepting Ukrainian refugees are currently in force at the EU level as a whole, and individual countries cannot restrict the rights of Ukrainians more than is permitted by the EU-wide rule. However, this does not apply to Denmark, as it refused to sign the standard Maastricht Treaty on EU accession back in 1992 and was allowed to join the bloc under special conditions.
Ukrainian refugees in the EU
As UNIAN reported, Ukrainians in Poland are increasingly being denied PESEL UKR status if they come from regions without active hostilities. This status gives the right to legal residence, access to healthcare, and simplified employment, while PESEL NUE does not provide these benefits.
We also reported that a discussion has begun in the Czech Republic regarding the future of Ukrainian refugees . The speaker of the lower house of parliament called for the immediate abolition of the temporary protection regime for Ukrainian citizens.

Unrelated but name O’Flaherty reminded me of this band.
That was an interesting piece Bill! I rather liked it, but it appears that the band does not exist. It may be AI-generated, but normally AI is excrement yet this isn’t.
Doesn’t surprise me, I’ve a had lot more AI generated music being suggested to me by algorithms, but this particular one is really good, someone knew what to ask for or has a great generator. Thanks for the feedback, and for letting me know what you found out.
We only need women anyway. 😁
Very good. I hope other countries will follow suit. Ukraine is fighting for its very survival, and all able-bodied men should be there and not hiding in foreign lands.
