Following the EU sanctions against Russia, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has suspended the certificates of Russian civil aviation companies.

This is stated in the message of the regulator, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

“EASA has decided to suspend all certificates issued by it, including certificates for products, spare parts and appliances, as well as certificates for training centers and flight simulators, if the certificate holder is or resides in Russia or is otherwise subject to sanctions,” the statement said. message.

The list of organizations with suspended certificates includes the largest Russian airlines (Aeroflot, S7, Volga-Dnepr, Ural Airlines and others), aircraft maintenance companies (A-Technics, S7 Engineering, Volga – Dnieper Technique “and others).

In addition, the list includes types of aircraft whose certificates are suspended: among them are made in Russia Superjet 100 and Tu-204.

EASA has also decided to suspend the acceptance and processing of certification applications already received from Russian organizations.

On February 26, the European Union imposed sanctions banning the supply of civil aircraft and spare parts to Russia, as well as their maintenance and insurance. In addition, the sanctions oblige lessors to terminate contracts with existing airlines by the end of March .

On March 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing the registration of rights to foreign aircraft in Russia and the issuance of Russian certificates of airworthiness for them.
