The head of the Avdiivka city military administration, Vitaly Barabash, noted that after the occupation of Avdiivka, about 700 people remained in the city.

He said this on the air of the “Espresso” TV channel.

“There are about 700 people left in Avdiivka. The situation is not easy, constant checks are ongoing. The euphoria has already passed for most of the people who stayed there and who were really waiting for the Russians. Even those people who were indifferent already say that it was much better under Ukraine. Therefore, that there are no signs of democracy or that the “liberators” came to them. In the first days of the occupation, there were many videos of how the occupiers came and embraced them. Currently, they are being kicked out of their houses. Looting is happening in the city plant. That is, most people realized that this was not what they were expecting,” Barabash emphasized.

According to the head of the Avdiyiv city military administration, throughout the full-scale war, local authorities, volunteers and the police explained to the “Zhduns” using the examples of Severodonetsk, Mariupol, and Bakhmut that nothing good would happen, but they did not believe it.

“At the moment, they are going through all this themselves. The same people are filmed in the propaganda stories, there are about 20 of them. Even those people who remained in the city have no respect for these people. By the way, the Russians give out humanitarian aid, which we still brought”, Barabash noted.

• During the past day, 146 combat clashes took place on the front between the two armies. Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks in 7 directions and eliminated 1,300 occupiers.
