The EU responded to Trump’s loud accusations regarding Ukraine

Michel told how much they had already allocated to help the country in this war.

The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, responded to accusations from former United States President Donald Trump that the European Union is not helping Ukraine enough.

Michel mentioned the politician’s account on the microblog X , inviting him to look into the numbers. According to him, during the full-scale war, the European Union has already provided assistance to Kyiv in the amount of $150 billion.

“Donald Trump, don’t be afraid of Putin. We are not afraid. Let’s look at the facts. The numbers speak for themselves. EU contribution to Ukraine: 143 billion euros ($150 billion),” wrote the head of the European Council.

Trump reproached the European Union for insufficient assistance to Ukraine:

Let us recall that earlier the former American leader said that the United States of America allocates more funds to help Ukraine than Europe.

He called on European leaders to “move” if they believe Ukraine’s survival and strength are very important to Europe.

“Why can’t Europe give the same or comparable money that the United States of America is putting in to help a country that desperately needs it?” – he wrote on his social network Truth Social.

  1. Who blocked the American aid to Ukraine for 6 months? A person with a ‘brain’ of an 8 years old…………

  2. I’m not defending Trump but you can’t argue with the message. More help from everyone, including Europe. It’s interesting that even when Trump calls for more help to Ukraine, he’s criticized as being uneducated and a lier. I also want to call attention to a turning point that occurred precisely last Friday when Speaker Johnson went to Mar-a-Lago. There seems to have been some very positive attitude adjustment coming forward from that meeting.

    • The point was that he was saying Europe didn’t do shit and that the U.S. paid for everything, while the European countries actually paid more for Ukraine.
      ^bert

        • The US didn’t abstain from doing business with Russia, neither. But that was then and this is now. It’s a different ballgame. And the US urgently need to start pitching again, after a long break (not that I know anything about baseball, I have to admit). 🤨

    • Facts are facts. He did block the American aid to Ukraine for 6 months. He doesn’t act mature, and he’s a notorious liar. Even if he were to miraculously turn around tomorrow and personally pay for a Patriot system for Ukraine, it wouldn’t make him into a “not liar”. He’d be praised for the good thing he did, but that wouldn’t change the facts about who he is or what he’s done.

    • Sure, all Nato countries need to give more support. But it’s sttill a fact that, contrary to what Trump claimed, the Europeans have shouldered the clear majority of the financial burden. Not the US! Do you want to pretend this 9hony attack wasn’t a lie, just mere bullshit? Some difference.
Also, it’s still a fact that it were Trump’s supporters in Congress that had blocked the aid for months. And that their master had done nothing to make them pass the bill. He may have changed his mind now, who knows, because of a new campaign strategy maybe, but he still has blood on his hands, the blood of Ukrainians who died in RuSSian attacks when ammunition ran short. And if you’re ok with that, you urgently need to readjust your moral compass. 🤨
