The European Union’s long-term budget (Multiannual Financial Framework, MFF) for 2028-2034 includes 100 billion euros to support Ukraine.
This was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen after a meeting of the European Commission Board on July 16 in Brussels, a correspondent for “European Truth” reports.
100 billion euros are planned for Ukraine in the seven-year EU budget for 2028-2034.
“We are allocating 100 billion euros for Ukraine,” von der Leyen said during the presentation of the draft EU budget.
She recalled that there is a “Ukraine Fund” (Ukraine facility), which includes 50 billion euros.
“These amounts are slowly but surely decreasing, and that is why we are offering 100 billion euros to replenish the fund for Ukraine to support the recovery,” the President of the European Commission emphasized.
After the European Commission publishes the draft budget, the European Parliament and the European Council must express their position on it.
The multi-year budget for 2028-2034 should be approved by the end of 2027.
As reported, defense spending should take one of the leading places in the EU’s future financial planning.
“EvroPravda” has already reported that the European Union is considering the possibility of creating a fund of 100 billion euros to support Ukraine within the seven-year budget for 2028-2034.
