Russian troops have again attacked a passenger train in Sumy Oblast. This time, a suburban diesel train was hit.

As Censor.NET reports , this  was announced by the Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovsky.

“This day of terrible “hunting” of passenger trains continues. Another strike in the Sumy region on a suburban diesel train. And again there was a premature safety stop when a threat was detected – passengers were evacuated,” he stressed.

He added that the train was stopped in advance after the threat was detected, and the passengers were evacuated. However, according to preliminary information, not everyone managed to move to a safe distance. There are passengers with shrapnel injuries.

A mobile team provided first aid to the injured, and later medics arrived at the scene.

Passengers are urged to follow safety rules

Pertsovsky emphasized that in frontline communities, railway rolling stock and infrastructure are among the main targets of Russian troops.

During a safety stop and evacuation announcement, passengers should immediately head to shelter if available.

If the train has stopped at a section or stop point without shelter, it is necessary to move away from the railway infrastructure by at least 200 meters.

The Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia noted that in the vast majority of cases, trains manage to stop in advance after detecting a threat. At the same time, the outcome of the evacuation depends on how quickly passengers follow the instructions of the train crew.
