Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have carried out dozens of attacks on positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The most intense assaults are being carried out by the invaders in the Kostyantynivka direction, where they have already made 16 attempts to break through the Ukrainian defenses since the beginning of the day .
Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the offensive of Russian troops along the entire front line and inflict losses on the enemy. The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the situation on the front line.
Summary for July 9, 2026
As of 16:00 from the beginning of the day, the Russian Armed Forces had attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 79 times. In the Sumy region, the settlements of Volfyne, Sopych, Bachivsk, Korenyok, Ryzhivka, Yastrubshchyna, Ulanov, Girky, Potapivka came under enemy artillery fire. In the Chernihiv region, Buchky. North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions
The Russian army attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 11 times, six of them are ongoing, 3-4 artillery shells were fired, five of them with MLRS.
South Slobozhansky direction
The Russian Armed Forces made unsuccessful attempts to break through in the areas of Lyman, Vovchansk, Artilne and towards Zybyne and Shevyakivka. Two clashes are still ongoing.
Kupyansky direction
The Russian army is conducting two assaults in the Kurylivka area.
Limansky direction
Eight attempts to advance towards Borova, Stavki, Lyman, Dibrova, and Ozerne were repelled. Five clashes are still ongoing.
Slavic direction
The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 15 enemy attacks in the direction of Rai-Oleksandrivka and in the area of the settlements of Kryva Luka and Zakytne Riznykovka. Two clashes are still ongoing.
Kramatorsk direction
Two enemy attacks in the direction of Tikhonivka were repelled.
Konstantinovka direction
16 attacks were repelled in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Rusyn Yar, and four attacks are ongoing.
Pokrovsky direction
Since the beginning of the day, the invaders have tried seven times to dislodge the Armed Forces of Ukraine from positions in the areas of Dorozhne, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne and towards Shevchenko and Serhiivka. One battle is ongoing.
Oleksandrivskyi direction
Three attempts by the Russian Armed Forces to advance in the area of the settlement of Tolstoy were repelled.
Hulyaipil direction
Seven enemy attacks in the direction of Dobropillya, Vozdvizhivka, Zaliznychny, Tsvitkove, and Charivny were repelled. Two battles are ongoing.
Orikhiv direction
The attack in the Shcherbaky area was repelled.
Prydniprovsky direction
No enemy offensive actions were recorded. There are no significant changes in other areas.

As of 10:00 p.m., 219 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders took place at the front.
Border shelling
Russian troops continue artillery shelling of border areas. The settlements of Korenyok, Neskuchne, Volfyne, Yastrubshchyna, Ulanovye, and Bachivsk came under fire. In addition, the area around the settlement of Luzhky was hit by airstrikes.
North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions
Here, our defenders stopped two enemy attacks. In addition, the occupiers carried out 32 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements.

The defense forces repelled 22 enemy assaults near the settlements of Stepanivka, Illinivka, Ivano-Pil’ya, Kostyantynivka, and Oleksandro-Shultyne.
Kramatorsk and Prydniprovsk directions
One enemy assault was recorded in the Kramatorsk direction near the settlement of Yurkivka.
Pokrovsky direction
In total, the enemy carried out 26 attacks. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Svitle, Gulive, Pokrovsk, Mirne, Matyasheve, Bilytske, Dorozhne, Nykanorivka, Novy Donbas, Rodynske, Kotlyne and Udachne. Two clashes are ongoing.
Oleksandrivskyi direction
Ukrainian military repelled two attacks near Voskresenka.
Hulyaipil direction
The defense forces recorded 21 attacks by the invaders in the areas of the settlements of Girke, Hulyaipilske, Rybne, Dobropillya, Vozdvizhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, Kosivtsevo, Novoselivka, and Charivne.
Orikhiv direction
Ukrainian defenders repelled one attempted attack in the Shcherbaky area.

As of 10:00 p.m., the military reported that 219 combat clashes had occurred since the beginning of the day.
Border regions and Sumy region
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today, the settlements of Korenyok, Ryzhyvka, Volfyne, Hirky, Yastrubshchyna, Tovstodubovo, Kucherivka, Sopych, Bachivsk were hit in the Sumy region; in the Chernihiv region, Klyusy, Semenivka, and Buchky were hit. Khutir-Mykhaylivskyi was hit by an airstrike.
North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions
There were two clashes with the enemy. The enemy carried out 44 attacks on settlements and positions of our troops, including two of them using multiple launch rocket systems.
South Slobozhansky direction
The enemy stormed the positions of our units seven times in the areas of the settlements of Starytsia, Lyman, Artilne, and towards the settlement of Khatne.
Kupyansk direction
The enemy launched one attack in the direction of the settlement of Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi.
Limansky direction
Nine attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of Yampol, Nadiya, Novoselivka and towards the settlements of Borovo, Lyman, Ozerne, and Dibrovo were repelled. Two more clashes are currently ongoing.
Slavic direction
The defense forces successfully stopped 23 attempts by the invaders to advance towards the settlements of Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and in the Riznykivka and Zakytne districts.

Russian invaders carried out two attacks in the Nikiforivka area.
Konstantinovka direction
Defense forces repelled nine enemy assaults in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, and Ivano-Pillya. Another clash is currently ongoing.
Pokrovsky direction
Since the beginning of the day, the invaders have tried to push our soldiers from their occupied positions 41 times. The invaders tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Ivanivka, Dorozhne, Hryshyne, Udachne, Muravka, Molodetske, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka and towards the settlements of Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Novy Donbas, Shevchenko, Myrne, Serhiivka. Three clashes are still ongoing.
Oleksandrivskyi direction
The enemy tried to advance four times in the Kalynivske area and towards Verbovye.
Hulyaipil direction
The defense forces successfully repelled 19 enemy attacks towards the settlements of Dobropillya, Girke, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, Vozdvizhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Hulyaipilske, and Charivne.
Orikhiv and Prydniprovsk directions
No enemy offensive actions were recorded in these areas.
There are currently no significant changes in the situation in other areas. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.

Border regions and Sumy region
Artillery shelling of border communities continues. Korenyok, Neskuchne, Ryzhivka, Volfyne, and Hirky came under fire, and the Russian army launched air strikes on Bunyakyno and Korenyok.
North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions
Six combat clashes took place on the front line. The occupiers also carried out 14 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, one of which was from a multiple launch rocket system.

As of 22:00, Ukrainian troops had repelled 11 enemy attempts to advance in the Lyman direction. Fighting was taking place in the areas of Yampol, Nadiya, Novoselivka and in the direction of Borova, Stavki, Drobyshevye, Lyman, Ozernye and Dibrova. Three more clashes were ongoing.
Slavic direction
One of the most tense areas. Here, Russian troops carried out 14 attacks in the direction of Kryvaya Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, as well as in the areas of Riznykivka and Zakytne. Three clashes were still ongoing at the time of publication of the report.

Konstantinovka direction
The enemy is most active on this section of the front. Ukrainian troops repelled 17 attacks near Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as in the direction of Stepanivka, Toretskoy, and Vilne. One clash is ongoing.
As of 22:00, Ukrainian defenders in the Kostyantynivka direction had repelled 25 enemy assaults. Fighting took place in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, Ivano-Fylya and in the direction of Stepanivka, Toretske, Kucherovy Yar and Vilne. Another battle was ongoing.
Pokrovsky direction
Russian troops also made 17 assault attempts in the Pokrovsky direction. Fighting took place in the areas of Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshynye, Kotlyny, Udachny, Novomykolaivka and Filia, as well as in the direction of Bilytsky and Novopidhorodny. One attack is still ongoing.
As of 22:00, the situation remained most tense in the Pokrovsky direction, where the invaders launched 32 attacks. They tried to advance near Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Dorozhnye, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshynye, Kotlynye, Udachnye, Novomykolaivka and Filia, as well as in the direction of Bilytskyi, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Serhiivka and Novopidhorodne.
Oleksandrivskyi direction
On this section of the front, the occupiers attacked three times near Oleksandrograd, Ternovo, and Kalynivske.
As of 10:00 p.m., Russian troops in the Oleksandrivka direction attacked Ukrainian positions in the areas of Oleksandrivka, Ternovo, and Kalynivske four times.
Hulyaipil direction
The defense forces repelled six attacks in the direction of Dobropillya and Hulyaipilske. Three clashes have not yet ended.
As of 22:00, the Defense Forces had successfully repelled 14 enemy attacks in the Hulyaipil direction. Russian troops attempted to advance in the Dobropil, Vozdvizhivka, Tsvitkove, and Hulyaipil directions.
Orikhiv and Prydniprovsk directions
As of 22:00, Ukrainian defenders in the Orikhiv direction stopped two attempts by Russian troops to advance towards Lukyanivske and near Maly Shcherbaky.
As of 22:00, Russian troops were not conducting offensive operations in the Dnieper direction. No significant changes in the operational situation were recorded in other areas of the front during the day.
The Ukrainian military continues to exhaust Russian troops both along the entire line of combat contact and in the enemy’s rear areas.
OBOZ.UA previously reported that in June, the Russian occupiers lost more territory in Ukraine than they were able to capture. The area of territory controlled by Russia decreased by 9 square kilometers in a month.
